Osprey39 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I've been fishing quite a bit this year and I've caught several largemouth but they have all been right around the size limit + or - an inch. I went down to Texas and caught a couple good ones down there but here at home, I've been struggling. Saturday was more of the same. Got on the lake about 11am after the 2.5 hour drive to get there and caught several small fish. Lost one that was probably around 1.5 to 2lbs and then this one hammered my bait (sorry, I was by myself so no posing for me): Quote
Big-O Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Fine fish....maybe go a bit deeper and a bit slower Your points and deep drops should be holdin' some nice ones too. Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
Super User CWB Posted May 18, 2010 Super User Posted May 18, 2010 What took so long??? Listen to Big-O. He is wise beyond his years, not that he's old or anything. He can find fish in a parking lot. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted May 21, 2010 Super User Posted May 21, 2010 Great bass !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Osprey39 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 As much as I enjoy the pats on the back, I have to say this bass is not as big as the picture makes it look. It went just a tad over 3 pounds. It looks twice that because I had to hold my cellphone in one hand and the fish in the other so it's fairly close to the camera. It's still a pretty decent fish for New Mexico. Our state record is over 15 pounds but I think the last 5 or 6 state records have all come from the same power plant lake. In our normal lakes, you don't catch them that big. I think the big bass in our last club tournament was just under 3 pounds so I was happy to catch this one. Quote
