EastTexasBassin Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 It was very bright out today and VERY WINDY. There was an occasional small cloud, but it was mostly sunny. The fish were hiding under matted grass, but they couldn't resist the ragetail shad when I buzzed it right over their heads. I put an insertable weight inside the shad, which allowed me to add weight without using a keel weighted hook. This helped me throw it into the wind and keep it on target. Quote
bassman31783 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Nice job. Really nice looking fish. Man was it ever windy yesterday. Steady at about 15mph but the news said that there were gusts up to 40mph. Quote
L a r r y Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Where were you fishing? I wasn't able to get one single bite yesterday, and I threw the whole darn tacklebox at them. The wind was horrible to say the least, I had my brakes turned up and cast control set more than normal, and I still keep having to pick out a birds nest Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 I was at a small lake in East Texas, a few miles from I-20 between Canton and Van. I also had to set my brakes high, and I still got a few backlashes. The wind gusts seemed to always happen mid-cast. I was cursing the wind quite a bit yesterday. Quote
L a r r y Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I was cursing the wind quite a bit yesterday. So instead of me thinking it was the voices in my head, it was you that I was hearing that the wind carried alllllllll the way to me ;D Quote
