Well, I just purchased my first kayak yesterday, took it out for two hours and caught by biggest bass to date, ~5.5 lbs:

Then, I took it out again this evening and caught a PR again! 6.5 lbs this time:

Anyone around here ever kayak fish? I'm loving it so far :D

Great fish!

I kayak fish all the time. I use an inflatable because I need to carry it in to some harder to reach places and I can fit it in my trunk. I love it. It can make landing fish a little tricky but I've gotten used to it. It also makes me fish more thorough because it takes a little while to paddle back and forth. I'd rather be fishing than spot hopping.

You know its unfair that you have to take the pic by yourself holding the fish away like that making them look slightly smaller for those two beauties. Those are just beautiful fish and you are gettin that Kayak thing down real well! Don't Kayak fish but those two days look fun.

Thanks guys, this was the most fun I've had fishing in a long time. Caught these guys on topwater too, which makes it even better.

Yeah, it is tough to hold the camera back behind you and get the fish in frame. I have thought about getting a mount; that may be my next purchase. I still have a lot to learn about kayaking.

kayak fishing is the silent attack. sounds exciting. that fish looks more than five five

Yeah, that's a conservative estimate. It may have been closer to six. 22 1/4", didn't get a girth..

Nice looking fish. How was that first fight from the yak?

The first fight was exciting to say the least. I actually caught her on a log jam on the dam, so as the fish was pulling me around, I had to keep making sure I wasn't going over the dam. At one point I actually had to hold the rod with my legs and paddle a few times while the fish was still fighting! It's a wonder I actually landed her. Talk about an adrenaline rush :D
