bassman31783 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Got a chance to go to Lake Fork again yesterday, this time with my dad, & had a great day. We ended up boating 13 fish. every fish was over 3lbs with the exception of 1 dink thrown into the mix. Dad's 2 best were both 4lbs. He also lost a monster that would have easily been his personal best. He took the loss much better then I would have. He'll get her next time. Here are my 3 best of the day. 5lbs 2oz 5lbs even 7lbs 10oz (big one of the day & for the year so far) At the end of the day we had impressive farmers tans, sore backs, scraped thumbs & big smiles. Great day on the water. Quote
shimmy Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 beautiful fish. Gorgeous. Must be quite the treat to fish Lake Fork all of the time. Very jealous. Quote
Bigs Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 You're blessed to live near such a great fishery. Very nice fish. Well done. Quote

noogai13 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 this makes me want to fish at lake fork more often. im in dfw and its probably not more than an hour away. at the first five pounder me and my dad probably would have went home on that note. nice! Quote
bassman31783 Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 Agreed, it is a blessing to live close enough to fish Fork more then most. However I grew up only 20min away & hardly ever fished it & now that I'm married & live 2hrs away in Denton I hardly get the chance to fish it. Go figure. Granted for most of my life my dad & I didn't have a boat that we could take out on big water. I also didn't take fishing too seriously up until 5yrs ago. As for you noogai12, you better start fishing Fork more often. It's a fantastic lake. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted April 15, 2010 Super User Posted April 15, 2010 Awesome day! Your 5-2 almost looks bigger than the 7-10 except for the differences in length. Quote
bassman31783 Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 Awesome day! Your 5-2 almost looks bigger than the 7-10 except for the differences in length. Agreed. The 5-2 is the fattest bass I've caught in quite a while. The 7-10 was a very wide & long bass but it had clearly already started spawning. When I first hooked the 7-10 I didn't think it was any bigger then 3lbs until I got her next to the boat. Quote
blueultra2 Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Looks like you guys had a great day on the lake! Quote
