My girlfriend and I visited some family in Florida last week and went fishing on Lake Toho with a guide service. We caught around 15 fish in the 4-6 lb. range (6 hour trip) using shiners and a mixed bag of soft plastics, but primarily 7 inch junebug ochos. Around mid-day and after not having a bite in a couple of hours, my girlfriend hooked this whopper on a shiner which weighed in at 9 lbs. 12 oz., tripling her personal best! Being the seasoned fisherwoman that she is, she rounded up and is now claiming that the fish was a full 10 lbs. I guess I can give her the 4 oz. I have never been so proud, yet envious.

That is awesome, but I don't think you can give her the 4 oz to make it a DD. If it here like 4-12 to 5 lbs, no problem. Cant do it for the ole' DD. Either way, hell of a fish.

That's what I told her, but you know how women can be. She said if the fish would have eaten the shiner it would have weighed in at an even 10. Regardless, it was a memorable day and I look forward to a fantastic season on our home waters.

Congrats to your lady with that beautiful catch.....your never gonna hear the end of it. 8-)

You're right. She beat me in golf as well that week and has been asking me if I need any advice or tips in either sport.
