Went out early this morning around 5:30 with my dad. He caught 3 using a rattletrap and a worm and I caught two on a watermelon red flake eeliminator. Both of us had a fish that went 3 or 4lbs.

I decided to go back in the afternoon even though the wind was blowing around 10mph. I was throwing a black and chrome rattletrap without much luck. Then I got a great hit and set the hook. The fish took off and started peeling out line. I knew I had a good one on. Then the fat heifer jumped out of the water and threw the hook. :'( I casted in the same area a few more times with no luck than worked further along the bank.

I decided to comeback to the same area to cast to the fish I had lost. I could not get a bite on the rattletrap so I threw a watermelon trick stick with a chartreuse tail. I let it sit for a while and than tick, tick, tick... The line took off and I set the hook. The fight was on. She started to peel off line and came out of the water 3-4 times despite me keeping my rod low. My heart was pounding with anticipation hoping I would land her. I got her in and managed to get a couple pics before releasing her. :)
