Big day today fishing GMAN's 3/4 oz custom jig with

Big O's Rage Tail Lobster as a trailer. The presentation

is about the size of a softball and makes a statement:

Little guys stay away!

I'm pretty sure my first fish today will be my best

largemouth this year. The second fish, the little one,

looked to be 5-6 lbs.

I know... :-[

That's why I make no claim as to size. So many

guys on this forum, like yourself, post up fish that

are weighed and have pictures.

I love the pics, too!

Right on, man! That's what I'm talkin' about! That's funny, a 5-6lb "little" fish.

Is GMAN's Mop jig a custom take off of the Buckeye Mop jig? I love the idea of the original Mop jig, but the paint is weak, as is the cheap weed guard. Four hours in and the jig head only had paint left on the top and there were only 4 strands left on the weed guard ::) 8 hours later, two jig heads shinning with lead, and barley any strads left on the weed guards. >:(

All GMAN jigs are hand made and durable, although

I still tend to lose a lot. Rocks, trees and stumps

really like them, too!

Generally, he uses Mustad hooks, but I think the

Mop Jig is made with a 6/0 Owner. Based soley on

the picture of the Buckeye Mop jig on their website,

GMAN's jig appears to have twice as many strands.

I have never has any issue with his weedguards

or paint.

Thank RW! ;)

So then the answer to my question would be yes, and they are a custom made version of the original. If that is the case, were can I spend my money to get some?

Found more hungry girls today. Missed two bites,

but landed three. Five bites in two, 2 hour trips

with a break to BPS. All in all, a pretty good day!

I have more Mop jigs on the way.

I'm getting beat up for no pics and no scale...

So, I'll say, they were probably at least

tournament "keepers".

:D

In your terms I got a good idea of what they weighed. I seriously doubt they were t-keepers.  I would say your being overly conservative. ;)    Good to hear you caught some.

I wanted to take the boss out with me but it rained and a cold front hit friday.  Hopefully this weekend I can get her out there.
