Super User Dwight Hottle Posted March 5, 2010 Super User Posted March 5, 2010 I got to fish some farm ponds with two buddies around Atlanta & Cordele GA the end of Feb & first of March. We had cold front conditions & lots of north wind. Best baits were senkos, flukes, rattle baits and wake baits. Our best day for numbers & size was with 10 to 20 mph winds. When the wind was blowing the worst we did best with rattle baits & wake baits fished on the surface or just below. This was my biggest for the trip. Quote

Super User RoLo Posted March 10, 2010 Super User Posted March 10, 2010 Dwight, that's a mighty fine hawg you're holding, especially under the circumstances. Cordele eh? The watermelon capital of the world is on the same latitude as Montgomery Lake. I'll bet George Perry's legendary bass crossed your mind. When living in Georgia we fished Banks Lake a few times, it's a tad farther south near Lakeland. It has big bass, big pickerel and is chockfull of cypress knees and lotus pads (blue-green pizzas). Super User RoLo Posted March 11, 2010 Super User Posted March 11, 2010 I have fished there a good bit Rolo live 15 minutes from banks You're a lucky fellow. Banks is the only lake I've seen in Georgia, that could easily pass for a Floridian subtropical water (gorgeous). Roger Quote
