Just about every trip is preceded with the question: What's the best time of the year to come to the Marsh/Farm for a chance at a big one. My answer is always: That's a tough question to answer because I have a difficult time excluding any month. The pictures below demonstrate why February can be that month.

As the fish move from their summer pattern into a pre-spawn condition the fishing results can be spectacular. Not only are the catches plentiful, but the big gals are out to play. The boats ready, I am ready! Are you ready?

Summer grounds on this lake are the old irrigation ditches that criss-cross the Farm side of the lake. The spawning grounds are to be found on the southern end of Farm 13 in the heavy areas of wood. Navigation down there can be a bit trying so be careful.

See you out there. Say hi if you get the chance.

George,

A few questions :

1].. Have you ever had a client have a heart attack when he saw the size of his fish ?

2].. Do you keep nitroglycerin tablets onboard your boat for such an occaision ?

Pre-spawn to me is hands down the best time of the year ;)

looks like everyone had fun there!!

Only complaint I have is a few of those guys need to learn to 2-hand the big fish or break its jaw...

Lipping the fish does not break its jaw. Trying to hold the fish horizontal with one hand: maybe.
