nice man. did he slam it or inhale it

I just felt weight on the end and set the hook, and FISH ON! Last week I had one as well, same thing, I felt weight and set the hook, fought it to 2ft in front of me and came unbuttoned.

Congrats!

Can't tell size by pics, bc of lens distortion. But by looking at your hands (and having no idea how big you are), my rough guess is maybe 3lbs. Nice bass where I fish. :)

Congrats.  Now that you know what to feel for when jig fishing you'll stick a lot more of them.  Good healthy fish.

Classic Jig Bite ;)

greatest feeling in the world: catching a bass on a jig. Caught my first in July of last year. Became my favorite bait.

I always get the vibrating cellphone strike or the "hey, there goes my line"

Man i remember my first jig fish. It was the full moon at Lake Fairfield  in Texas which is a power plant lake. I was so focused and working my jig like my life depended on it. Well I got a huge thump and set the hook. He Ran straight to the deep water and was pulling drag like crazy. I honestly thought I had the new State Record then got it to the boat and it was about a 30 inch red fish
