Looking for a way to store my rule on a hatch/ storage door. seen some of the pro's with it there. Was wondering what they use. It looks like it slides in and out of somthing?

Thanks

The ones you see the Pros using are factory installed; some are standard equipment while some are optional. I used a Golden Rule it fits nicely behind my drivers seat with the angle towards the outside of the boat.

Seems like it wouldn't be too tough to come up with either a sleeve or pair of clips to be bolted or riveted to the hatch lid.

my boat has a small bungee cord on the side of one of the compartments.Don't know what it's for,but my golden rule fits in there great.

I bought some velcro( hook and loop) material, put a narrow strip of the hook material at each end of the ruler. Then placed a larger pad of the loop material on the fiberglass at the front of the casting deck.

Don't make the strips on the ruler too wide or it will be too aggressive and hard to remove easily . The material I found was self adhesive. No drilling or hardware and it works well for me.

Hope this helps--good luck.

I made the mistake of fastening it to the side of the boat, nice decoration totally unusable where I put it :-/

glue a magnet to the back of it.  Glue some painted steel where you want it to stay.
