On my way to charleston today I'm stopping by bass pro shop and i havn't been there in 6 months or so. Is there any tackle I just need to get? I'm bringing about 70 dollars and i already know some of the rage tail anacondas are on my list any other advice on something to pick up would be great! Thanks

I'm starting to like BPS less and less and Tackle warehouse more and more. One advantage is you can actually go into a BPS and see what they offer. For online, TW seems to have better selection and definitely better prices.

Yep. I stopped going to BPS. I order everything from *** now. I love how I can find everything I want, order it all at once without any hassle.

BPS is always a fun place to walk around in because sometimes you find good things on sale, but overall, they aren't cheaper. I get better deals at my local tackle shop than I do at BPS.

The rods and reels are the same price (the ones they both carry, G Loomis, Shimano, St. Croix, Daiwa, Pflueger etc.) and most of the tackle is the same price between the two.

Unless you get spousal discount then everything is cheaper ;)

I went to BPS in early nov, and they did not have the abu garcia c4 or sx in a L.H model, also did not have any striper trolling lures in stock.

the gentlemen said the would get trolling lures in stock in a month.

How could you be 10 minutes from ca delta and not have this in stock, and be out for a month during fall striper run. I went to fishermans wharehouse in manteca , which had everything in stock and same prices as BPS, and spent my 300.00 at their store. I feel like BPS is just a glorified walmart, while Delta Bait and Tackle has a full selection of gear with knowledgeable sales staff. I will support the local bait shop with great knowledge of the delta and local fishing waters, with my hard earned dollars

I make a trip to BPS during their spring sale or whenever they have Lucky Crafts on sale. Other than that, I find that they are way overpriced and have done most of my shopping this year on EBAY and forum like this one. Also I have the staff at BPS to be completely full it when it come to tackle expertise.

i like to go there to look around, but buy almost everything at the small bait shop by my house. i found the little shop to be cheaper on almost everything.

I realise they also don't have a lot of products you would want in stock as well. Most of the soft plastics don't have the colors I want, that is again why I prefer ***. I can just choose what I want and they are always in stock.

One thing BPS is good for is they have great customer service. I bought a bunch of lures from there, did not use them and brought it back without the receipt and they gave me a instore credit.

d**n, I may have to get a Cabela's card just to do that.  Especially since BPS and I get along about like oil and water.
