every once in a while, i like to leave the bass alone and chase something that pulls a little harder. this one didn't disappoint either. there was a lot of drag pullin' going on after this one hit. lots of fun for sure. i have tried to get this particular fish out of this particular pond for a while because i'm sure it eats a lot of the bass forage. i've been wanting to put it in a friend's catfish pond, but my daughter is having none of it. she says i have to leave it alone and keep it right where it is. she has caught it several times over the years and grown quite fond of it, even naming it a few times. ;D so i guess it will live to a ripe old age in the pond where it was born. it will probably be eating 2 pound bass before long. ;D sometimes it's hard to say no to the princess. ;)

Good lord man! When I read the title I thought maybe you caught some bluegill or something with your daughter. But it's no surprise to see a picture of you holding an enormous fish! Even if it's not a bass you seem to find and catch the biggest fish you are going for! I am jealous...  8-)

That was not what I was expecting to see. I thought by change of pace you meant a bass under 7lbs.  ;D

Nice catch as always, Paul!

Lol. I was thinking the same thing.  A bass under 7lbs would be a change of pace for paul!

Nice catfish, I haven't fished for big cats in a long time.  When I started fishing as a kid, it was for catfish.  I've kinda forgotten about them.

That's a far cry from the bullheads I catch up here.  Don't tell me Paul, to get that beautiful ebony look you soaked him in dark water before the pic.  Just kiddin'.  I'm gonna talk to Glenn and see if he can hook you up as a speaker at the next roadtrip! ;)
