EasternPAfisherman Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 When I went out I was focusing on one thing, crankbaits! I never caught a bass on a crankbait in my life. anyway, I took out my dad's 20-25 year old RAT L TRAP in crawfish/ old way color. the spitrings were rusted, the hooks sort of were, but I said "what the heck, it cant hurt" I was right. I was chucking the RATLTRAP on ten pound mono, and man it casts a mile. when I went to the pond it lost 3-4 feet of water because the pipe is clogged, were gonna help the owners get that unclogged. anyway I had only two bites that would tap my rod, the rest stopped it dead in it's tracks! including a small white crappie which slammed it! without catching that I wouldn't have found out there was crappie in it. All the bass i caught were only about 1 pound but it was fun. I caught 5 bass and 1 crappie. Not bad for a cold day in eastern pa. ;D Quote
