WHEN IT"S MY NEW PB

I was supposed to hit Billington Sea today solo, but around 10:30 last night I decided to stay home and do some yard work. Woke up around 3am and did some house work. Around 5am this morning I had enough of that crap and decided to head out to a RI pond I had only fished once in about 20 years. Arrived at 7am, air temp 33* BRRRRRRRRR! Water temp was 49*. Started off working the slammer and got a quick slap but nothing to show for it. Switched over the Mission fish for the next 3 hours, pitching to rock in 10-15FOW. When I'd crank it back in at a fast clip I saw a few 3lbs chase it, but wouldn't take it. 11:00am, I'm now fishing 30fow w/a C-rigged the Swing Impact and pick up a 6" dink. 11:30 I switch over to the Impact rigged on a 3/16thoz Slider head, on 10lb P-line 100%Fluoro, set up on a 7' St Croix Premier M/L rated to 1/8-1/2oz and Sahara. I'm crawling it in 16fow over large boulders and get a d**n "Tic", you know the Perch type of hits. I go to rip it away from the scoundrel and the rod dbls over! I was scared sheetless that I was gonna lose whatever it was. I play her gingerly for about 4 minutes, just dying to see what it is...................................................................

8.2lbs of pure beauty!!!!!!!!!! I'm still shaking 6 hours later. She was 24 long by 17+ girth. It never ceases to amaze me how quick these moments go by, just way too FAST! Not the best of pic's but, after the battle, trying to weigh her, measuring and trying to keep her steady for the pic's, I wanted to get her back in the water to swim another day, and she did! She must of just eaten a few fish becuase her gut was completely distorted and lumpy as heck. She had the fatest neck I've ever seen! These pic's do her no justice what so ever. It's been a phenomenal year!

Nice fish, man! I've been in the same conditions as you, even a little colder, but Monday i had an outing like that and caught a 7-5. I'll take it! For real, though, that is a gorgeous New England bass right there! Congrats on the new PB!

Wow a Northen Strain Bass over 8 lbs, that is like a 12lb Southern Strain Bass. Commendable job to say the least.
