I'm hoping to be there 10 and a half hours, 654 miles... Hopefully me and truffle will have the tracker done or I have a charger bass boat by then and something to tow it with.  Truffle wants to go but I don't think he can b/c of school, probably see if my dad wants to come, show him a few tricks and techniques.

Road Trip Up-Date.

I will be traveling to Kentucky Lake this coming week to meet a few members and some BR staff on a "Road Trip" reconnaissance mission. As we are able to gather and put together details of the who, what, where & how of this year's road trip, the information will be posted on a dedicated BassResource.com web page as we did last year. You will be able go there to see all the details and have clear instructions on how to sign up for the trip and participate in all of the fishing and festivities. Like last year, I will be coordinating boaters with non- boaters along with those who need rides and roommates as best I can.

Details about the road trip will be posted soon. The BR staff and I are purposely waiting until we have some more details nailed down before we share a lot of information to avoid confusion. Be patient for little while longer and I am confident that all your questions will be answered.

It's going to be an awesome trip. BE THERE!

Would it be correct to say that from Rhode Island the distance is about 1200 miles tyo Aurora??

ajr

MS Streets & Trips calculates the distance from Providence RI to Aurora, KY to be 1,165 road miles. So you are pretty close.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Hey folks, sounds like everyone is getting amped for the trip - outstanding!!  Looking forward to meeting everyone.  We've been working hard on ironing out all the logistics so that it will be the best event ever!

To that end, we've discovered the dates we picked happen to fall upon the same dates of the World Series of Quilting (no kidding!).  The problem is that every room that can be rented within a 50 mile radius is already booked!!  They book this event 3 years in advance - go figure!  Furthermore, most people begin arriving early and some stay late, making it difficult for a group of our size to book a block of rooms/cabins close together on either the preceding or following week.

After discussing this with the planning committee, and weighing the options (and most importantly, when is the best fishing), we unanimously decided to change the dates to April 5 - 10.  Please make a note of it.

Many thanks to Alpster, RiskKid, RoadWarrior, Ghoti, and CJ for scouting locations and doing all the research, and presenting the team with recommendations.

Hopefully this doesn't cause any problems, as it's 8 months away.  And hopefully the folks who couldn't make it before, will be able to make it now.  My apologies if this creates any issues for you.

I have inside info that it had nothing to do with quilts, they read some of Long Mikes Posts and pulled our reservations

You mean you guys haven't heard about our quilt show in Paducah?  We even have a museum and everything.   ;D ;D ;D

Hopefully I will still be in KY in April and will get to meet everyone.

Looking for somebody who is fluent with Photoshop - particularly for designing web pages.

We are creating a microsite for the annual roadtip, and I'm looking for somebody who wants to help by creating a few pages that are very professional looking, clean, and follows standard usability guidelines.

PM me if you're interested.

Thanks!

Glenn, I know Micro is pretty adept at using Photoshop.  I dont know if his skills would be applicable to this, but you may want to try and contact him.

Just a thought.

At less than 250 miles away I'm pretty sure I'll be there.  I've got vacation days saved for it anyway.

Hey Mods, Whatever you guys decide, PLEASE don't block reservations for us on the North end of the lake. Although I am by no means an expert, if I were a bass planning to spawn in early April, I would much prefer to spawn in warmer waters to the south.
