Triton21 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Don't worry about it Pat, My boat has a front deck bigger than the first boat I owned. Plenty of room to Break Dance just don't break my lights off. Kelley Quote
IdahoLunkerHunter Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Lol, not really the break dancing type. Just a good hoot and hollar is enough for me, and the occasional, when a hookset, "Is is a biggun?" or "Good Fish?" Looks like fishing is going to be superb. I'm just glad to get out where there is no snow! I'm gonna try and get out this weekend with a little warmer weather, like mid forty's hehe, and see if I can't get into some deep water smallies. ProCrafter Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Here in Seattle my local lake, Lake Sawyer is still at 45 degrees but I saw the first fish of the year, a Smally around 1-1/2 lbs cruising in 2 feet of water...skiddish as I thought it would be but it still got me looking so forward to the 4th!!! five more 12 hour work shifts and I am there!!! of course, should be able to get the Procraft out 3 more times here first!!! ;D ;D Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 Does anyone know if there is a place at the lodge, other than the lobby, where the members can get together and perhaps sip a cold beverage (wink, wink) on Saturday and Sunday evening? I would think that forty of us standing around shooting the breeze in the lodge hallways would be frowned upon by hotel management. Quote
R520dvx Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Mike ..... Deb says there is a very nice (as she remembers it) pavillion that might be of use .... beverages would have to be covered up ...... remember you are in a state park ...... right now we can't think of anything else ...... not saying there aren't other options .......... Deb's dad's house is 2 1/2 miles from the park .... it has a huge deck. He's not living there right now .... we are remodeling. Refreshments Welcome !!! Quote

Then I realized if I sat outside any more, I might get frostbite.... All I know is it better be warmer in Kentucky than it was in Alabama. ;D I never expected I would see how well the heater worked in the Bass Bus. Quote
Pitchinkid Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 that's the magic of alcohol, its a heater in its self. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 If anyone is interested in a heavy duty rain suit, I have one that I bought on the Gulf Coast during a trip I "had to fish". The suit is heavy duty, but not insulated. Although I'm "medium" this two piece suit is L or XL, I had no options. I think it's a La Cross and is 200% waterproof! I paid a lot, full bore retail, but it can be yours for a reasonable price. I'll bring it to the outing and you can try it on if you're interested. I hope we don't need this gear, but just in case... p.s. The rain suit was worn 1 day. 8-) Quote
R520dvx Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Pitchinkid ........... there is NO bar at the lodge ........... it is a DRY county ....... I posted this a few weeks back to warn everyone to bring their refreshments. Quote

I posted this a few weeks back to warn everyone to bring their refreshments. I remember what you said about a dry county, and luckily I don't drink. Is George Dickel #8 available around there? If I could find some of that and a little ice I think I could give this beverage thing a whirl! Quote

I live two hours out of any decent fishing store an will be in the city tororrow for work. I don't think the bait monkey would mind me stoppin' in Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 26, 2009 Super User Posted March 26, 2009 You don't need a thing you don't already have. If I'm wrong, I have it and will give it to you for free. Promise! 8-) Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted March 26, 2009 Super User Posted March 26, 2009 Kent, that's very kind of you. When we get to the lake I will go through your tackle bag to find out which lures you have that I don't. I figure that if I leave enough stuff at home, I can probably take at least twenty lures off your hands. Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted March 26, 2009 Super User Posted March 26, 2009 I doubt that anyone has paid close attention, but R520dvx (Greg) and his wife Deb (Niksfishingmom) are residents at the lake. Has anyone noticed that they have, for weeks, been offering any assistance possible to the BR attendees? This couple has never met one of us, yet they have, and are, going out of their way to ensure that our trip will be the best it can be. My applause to the both of you. I'm very much looking forward to meeting you. Quote
