R520dvx Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Lake level is at 356.0 this morning ... came up about 6 inches in the last 24 hours. With rains predicted this week, it should come up more. It might just make it to full summer pool or close by the time y'all get here Quote

CJ Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Kelley, I am seeing them on the side of the road. I haven't seen any on the lake shore but they don't come up everywhere and they come up almost over night. I bet there are some blooming somewhere. I always found more of them on Barkley. Anyway, the milfoil is coming on! I'm finding grass in 3-4 of water and there are fish in it! The bite is hot and getting hotter! Quote

1inStripes Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Just 11 more days until I get to travel six hours to spend a week not catching fish. Yay... Famous words of the pessimist. I predict you will catch your new PB while there. At least a pound and half, maybe even 2. Quote
CJ Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Burley, don't make me start posting pic's of the bass my girlfriend has been catching. You're gonna catch some good uns'. If my 9 year old can catch em, so can you. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 Just 11 more days until I get to travel six hours to spend a week not catching fish. Yay... I'll be glad to have ya aboard Mr. Wet Blanket. I've refrained from doing this Sherman but I'm Mr. Peabody and I'm going back in the way back machine to the year 1978 Jimmy Carter was president. Gas was probably under $1 a gallon. A honkin big bass boat sported a whoppin 150hp motor and was a whole 18' long. I was listening to Bob Seger among others when my club had a tournament in May of that year on KY lake out of Kenlake marina. This strapping 21 year old, who'd never been on the lake (nor have I since) managed catching this 5 1/2 lb bass. I wound up placing 2nd. I caught this on some old Garcia red round reel using an old Lews Speed Stick fiberglass rod with a 7 1/2" Fliptail worm. Certainly with the vast amount of equipment you own along with all the knowledge you've gained from this board, this should be no problem to top. Failure is not an option. Quote
CJ Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Suckitude? That's freakin' hilarious! Anyway, I ain't kiddin'. Every time I set the hook Sunday, I knew it could be a good un'. I think it's only gonna get better. Once everybody is here, there will be no secrets. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 Don't worry Burley, when we go out on Wednesday, we can get skunked together and have fun doing it. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 You look funny with a cigarette in your hand. All that pessimism is gonna bite you in your arse when you feel that large thump on the end of your line. Wait and see, you're gonna get a good one Burley Sue. Quote
IdahoLunkerHunter Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I finally found where ya'all have been posting. I was starting to get worried that I was the only one going nuts sitting in the house waiting for road trip! There hasen't been many posts in general or outings except for the sweet fish you locals have been pulling out. I have a timer set up on the computer at work that counts down the seconds. This winters cabin fever will be at a true high when I arrive. Don't be surprised if little Iaconelli outbreaks comes out now and again. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 Don't be surprised if little Iaconelli outbreaks comes out now and again. Don't worry, you'll know it when I hook something over five pounds, so will everyone on the Barkley side. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 I caught about a five pound catfish at Guntersville last year. It was the only fish I caught all week. :'( Quote

Wait and see, you're gonna get a good one Burley Sue. I wouldn't mind catching a nice carp or catfish. If you don't catch something over 3 pounds I will about lock it in for next year to go since you have more success than I do when we fish together. Talk about suckitude. Quote
