JT Bagwell Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 I have fished near Aurora a few times and it is pretty decent. I have always put in at the KY Dam Marina and ran down. Should be good in the Spring if we don't get some crazy cold front or tornados. Don't forget to get KY and TN licenses if you venture very far south out of Aurora (into TN) because you will need both to be legal if you fish in KY and TN waters. JT Bagwell Quote
CJ Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 You'll only need TN license if you go south of the Paris Landing bridge. This act (I forget the proper term used), was reinstated 3 or 4 years ago. The paris Landing bridge is over 20 miles south of Aurora. Then a TN license is good anywhere south of the 68 bridge (Egnersferry Bridge), with the exception of Blood River. Quote

This is 100% correct....BUT....if you go to Barkley the state line rules and there is no reciprocation. Gotta love politics.....also the size limit for smallies in TN is 18" on Barkley Lake Quote

IL_Bassman Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Its no longer tempting for me...... I will be there for sure! Is it a problem if I don't have a boat? Quote
CJ Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 IL_Bassman, not at all. Many non boaters attend the roadtrips. SFC_AL, would love to see you make it! Like Russ, it would be an honor! BTW, has anybody thanked you lately? THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO SIR! CJ Quote
Super User cart7t Posted March 30, 2008 Super User Posted March 30, 2008 I was going to suggest KY or Table Rock, they're both right down the road from me about the same distance (250 miles). Barring unforeseen issues like I faced this year, I will be there. Haven't fished KY in 30 years, the last time I was there I took 2nd in a club Tourney. Just hope it doesn't get windy..... Quote
TruflShufl Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 I think me and Alex might just make the long haul down there. We have a whole year to save money... ;D Quote
fatmanslim247 Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Yep me and jay should be there, with the boat, i'll be out of college making the big bucks. It will be a long drive but it should be worth it Quote
XcoM274 Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 10 Hours 54 Minutes and I will be jumping in my seat the whole way down. Quote
bighed Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 I drive by KY Lake a couple times a year going to the inlaws in Owensboro. I've always wondered what the fishing was like. Count me in, I'm there! Quote

nboucher Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Circumstances didn't allow me to make the trip this year, but I'm going to do everything I can to be there next year. I don't know next year's school schedule yet, but that week isn't school vacation is it? I owe the family a trip during school vacation, and I'm not sure Kentucky Lake is going to qualify . . . :-/ Quote
