simplejoe Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Hey SpeedBead what's a good side dish to go with your Super Chicken. Maybe I'll have my wife make some linguine salad, then keep it cool for the ride. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 10, 2009 Super User Posted January 10, 2009 Hey SpeedBead what's a good side dish to go with your Super Chicken. Maybe I'll have my wife make some linguine salad, then keep it cool for the ride. LOL, you will find out that I am not too picky. As long as it doesnt bite back (or at least bite too hard), I can and probably will eat it. I am down for whatever. I have to see how many people I am looking at before I see what sides I can do, or if the chicken will be it. We'll see soon I suppose. Quote

Super User firefightn15 Posted January 12, 2009 Super User Posted January 12, 2009 Almost for got, can anyone tell me if an out-of-state fishing license can be bought right there, or should I look for a place on the way? I assume so. Quote
CJ Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 There are a few places near by you can buy a fishing license. Quote
1inStripes Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Here is a link to Kentucky's Department of Fish and Wildlife to purchase license's ahead of time. Not sure if it allows for shorter time limits like a week pass or 3 day pass or whatnot. Hope it helps someone. https://fw.ky.gov/license/olpsintro.aspx Quote
CJ Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Thanks, CJ No problem. If anybody has any questions concerning the area resources and whatnot, feel free to ask. You may PM me if you need. I'll do my best to help you out. CJ Quote

Super User firefightn15 Posted January 13, 2009 Super User Posted January 13, 2009 Well Burley, if there's any worry of flatulence, the curds should take care of that. Glad we cleared the air? Get it? Cleared the air. Now that's funny ;D Quote

Simp Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Ok just thinking out loud here guys so poke holes in any part of my plan if you see any. First I'll probably wait until tax refund time to reserve my room but I need to find out some details first. I have a fishing buddy who is on here but I'm not sure what he plans to do on the trip. I'm not sure if he can stay five days or even go so I'm might be looking for a lodging partner as well. Then as far as the boat situation goes. Well I'm just not sure yet. It's only about a 2 hour drive for more but the trailer we use for our john boat doesn't have the best tire set up. so if one of them went out on us on the drive we might in some trouble because they aren't your standard lug nut set up. I'm also worried about the boat itself out there. It's a 16ft non wide bodied john boat with a 9.9. I talked to a member of my bass club who thought it should be all right in the creek arms and that's where I'd want to be anyway with the pre spawn/spawn going on. Edit- OK I see t reservations need to be made by Feb 5. How are the Reservations being hangles by the lodge? Do we pay in full up front or a certain amount or what? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 13, 2009 Super User Posted January 13, 2009 No boat for me. I'll be hitch hiking all week long. Gene, do you think you are going to post a list modeled after the one in the "3rd annual trip" thread? Quote
Super User Alpster Posted January 13, 2009 Super User Posted January 13, 2009 For everyone thinking about and trying to plan for the roadtrip! I really want to be clear about the hows & whys of the registration process. We have set it up the way you see it on the Roadtrip website because we need to plan ahead to accommodate the members who will be there. The rooms, food, boat seats, tee-shirts, guest speakers etc. must be accounted for ahead of time. WE NEED TO KNOW WHO WILL BE COMING so we can try to make sure you will have what you need to enjoy an awesome trip. This doesn't mean that you can't make the trip at the last minute. It just means that you will be on your own for accommodations. Last year at Guntersville we had some big issues and had to make big, changes at the last minute because so many members who said they were coming either dropped out or just didn't show up. A lot of work and planning goes into making this an affordable, memorable fishing trip. Please register and make your room reservations before the deadlines. (March 1, for registration and February 15, for rooms). FYI........ 1. If you need a roommate and want to share room expenses, go to the "Sign up" page on the website and see who is already registered. Send them a PM and work it out so you have a place to stay. You can send me a PM and I will help you with this. 2. We will be posting a boater list soon so we can make sure everyone has a boat seat. These will not be assigned ahead of time as many of us are looking to fish with as many different members as we can, so the goal is to simply have more boat seats than fishermen. We are on track for this so far. If you will be bringing your boat and have an empty seat to share, send me a PM so I can add your name to the forthcoming list. 3. Several members are cooking and sharing evening meals during the week. If you would like to volunteer to bring a side dish, desert or drinks, paper plates, etc. please PM me so I can coordinate your efforts. It will be expected that everyone will help with set up and clean up. 4. Based on my experience, it is unlikely you will be able to have better shot at fishing with some of the best bass fishermen in the country on a world class lake. Get signed up and make plans to join us. You will not be disappointed. BASSRESOURCE ROAD TRIP 2009 - NO EXCUSES! Ronnie Quote
