Wind picked up again today, made for a somewhat fun ride back across the lake in 5bass's Gambler.

Why do I pack sunscreen and never use it?

I got 6 or 7 bites today, hooked two of those and got broken off once. 5bass started the day with a nice 3 pounder, then never broke 1.5 lbs. the rest of the day. He did outcatch me by a factor of at least 8 to 1.

However, I did manage to d**n near bury his truck in the mud at the ramp.   :-[

lol. the group i hang with, you gaurd your keys with your life or you will find your truck sitting in the biggest mud hole in the area. then they charge you to pull you out.

Today was a great day!  It was warm and sunny the majority of the day.  For the rest of the day it was mostly overcast with a bit of rain.

Most caught fish, and some caught some pigs.

This will definatly be a trip to remember.

Anyone landed a bunch of slabs to eat to go along with the bucket mouths?

Other than that 2lber I caught on a pointer I never had the time to try.. We were too busy trying to figure out the puzzle of the location of the 6+ lbers that lake has so we could knock Burley off the big fish podium.

We saw plenty of crappie fishermen with coolers of slabs.  This lake has got the crappie in it.   :o

How did it go today, folks?

I fished with Wayne (Speedbead) yesterday and let him run the front of the boat.  Our initial plan was to run to Duncan bay and fish a bunch of laydown trees from the icestorm they had down here but we then heard the lake had dropped several inches overnight so we changed tactics.  Speedbead pitched laydowns and logjams while I was tossing out into deep water and fishing the reliable jig dragging pattern that had been going on all week.  Wayne probably nailed around 4 keepers plus smaller fish flippin and pitchin.  I managed a 4 1/2, my largest of the trip by far dragging a jig up a ledge. We also got on a shallow water spinnerbait bite.  Speedbead caught a PICKERAL!  We didn't even know this lake had them.  I believe Pitchin Kid got one as well.

We later found out Jimzee and Pitchinkid ran up to Duncan and slew them pitchin those trees!

They had many keepers up to 3lbs, sometimes 2 and 3 per tree top.

Made it home safely.  Sure was a great week.  Had one almost 5lbs my largest, caught a ton of fish yesterday and a limit.  Caught almost all of the fish on a shaky head.  Thanks to Idaho***er teaching me how to fish it properly.  Patrick and Brian(FIREFIGHTN15) fished together several days together and had a wonderful fun time except for when I almost hooked Brian.  Can't remember when I have laughed so much.  Yesterday my stomach muscles ached from laughing.  Made a bunch of new friends(too numerous to name all) and was very happy to see old friends again.  as others have said, Big O was one of the most memorial one Hell of a guy and very generous and was glad to make his acquaintance.  Met a some of the other memorable were UnkleLeo, .ghoti. and Mary, cart7t, Burley, CJ, Bud, NicksFhingMom and her husband Greg, Speedbead(thanks for the great dinner, you to roadwarrior), and so many more.  Forgive me I am too tired now to write all the names but all of you were GREAT.

I hope ya'll managed through the weather this morning. Got pretty rough for a while here.

Most everyone had to leave before the weather got bad.  Glenn and Keri were sight seeing.   It looked like Uncle Leo/Simple Joe,  Roadwarrior and myself were the only ones that went out.  RW got a 2-12,  I got one a smidge smaller.  We heard thunder, pulled up stakes and got into the marina restaurant just as the rain and lightning started coming down.  Leo the same.  We never went back out, loaded up instead and left for home.  I'll post later when the others start posting.  Some probably still aren't home yet.

5bass dropped me off around 7, he should be home by now.  Will sort through my photos (only took around 300) and post a few random shots later.

I got some stories to tell on ol' Medium Mike.  Actually, I got stories on everyone.   ;)  I'm stealthy like a cat!  :D

Myself, smfisher and AJ made it out this morning.  We put on the rain coats and rode out the storms.  I boated a 5.4oz largemouth just after the first storm passed.  I boated a 5lb fish on tuesday as well.   Pitchin kid brought in the only other 5lb+ fish I've heard of this week(besides burley).

Smfisher and I caught TONS of 1-2lb fish, drop shotting/tubing main lake points.  Was lots of fun, but we never found anything of size.  We're headed home in the morning, but we're still contemplating a few hours of pitching laydowns before we head out.

To sum it up, we've caught tons and tons of fish, but most were cookie cutter 10 -  12 inch bass.  Smfisher and I did get on them one day this week, we stumbled across a jig bite just before dark landing numerous 3-4lb fish, with one over 5lb.  Smfisher lost a stud right at the boats edge.  He was pulling a jig with a spinning rig and didn't really get much penetration on the hookset.

Its been a blast, great people, great food, and lots of fun fishing!

I can't wait till next year!

I'm home finally.

What a great trip it was. CJ hung out all week (good dude, excellent fisherman) and pointed the group in the right directions. The food was awesome, the get-togethers and BS sessions were even better. I wish the weather had cooperated a little better the first few days....but I wasn't at work so I really cant complain.

You guys that couldn't make it this year really need to do some planning early and try to make it next year. It was great to actually meet people in person that you only 'know' over the internet.

Thanks to all who showed up and the sponsors who donated their products for the tackle packs and Cast for Kids raffle.

Hopefully everyone else will post up soon.

was lucky enough to be with them that day and we killed them on Jigs all day. Each time we came across a area with rocks that had some cover or was a point produced some fish. Let me tell ya these guys sure know how to pitch a jig!

I recognize that bank.   ;)

Firefightin and I fished it Wed and pulled some fish off those trees.  Speedbead and I went up much later on Thurs and finally fished that bank in Duncan.  Jimzee and AJ must of sore mouthed most of the fish as Speedbead could only pick up few.  I was draggin a jig from the back of the boat in deeper water and picked up a few smaller fish.

What was really weird was Duncan bay had lots of trees down from the icestorm.  Go into any other bay and you'd find a few but nothing like that cove.

Those 2 are fishing fools man.  They get jiggy with it for sure.   8-)

By far my favorite memories of the trip are

1.  getting to say the word "pea gravel" 100000 times

2.  specifically spinnerbaits for spots, smallies, and shoalies

3.  burley's photography
