Mike, I am building a makeshift chicken pit with cinder blocks.  I have two cooking grates for the top of the pit.

If CJ has the blocks for me before Monday night and Kent doesnt mind cooking over a wood fire, he can use that to cook his food.

Just let me know.

Hey all, haven't been on in quite some time, but I know the trip is coming up very soon and I wanted to wish everyone a safe and productive Roadtrip this year!

To all the members that are going on their first roadtrip, have no worries. You'll be hooked up with a top notch group of guys and I promise this will be the trip of a lifetime.

Good luck everyone, and tight lines!

I wish you could make it this year. Hope next year works out.

Bassinsergeant has offered his Weber to us.  I will be bringing one also, so that gives us what we need.

The dinners on Monday and Tuesday evenings will be held at 6:30 in the Bay View building.  It's located somewhere in the park, but I don't know its exact location.

The Bayview Building is on the point that overlooks the main lake. There are 2 entrances into the park (not counting the campground entrance) The lodge and marina are at the west entrance and the Bayview Building is in the east entrance ..... only about 1/2 mile apart.

Should make a good place for the dinners.

The lake is at 358.13 this morning .... that is less than a foot off of full summer pool. Rain is predicted 2 out of the next 5 days .... should come on up nicely .... maybe even into the bushes if the TVA doesn't drop the bottom out of it. Hopefully, they will let it come on up.

I guess AJ and Blaine are safe from any TP'ing of their camper as the campground is too far away from the lodge.

That's a shame...

LOL, could it happen again?

Monday's forecast for Hardin, KY looks familiar.  High temp of 47 and raining.

So, just sitting here in my office watching the snow fall and was just day dreamin' about the Lake. So if the rain cooperates and the lake is 2-3 feet above winter pool I have some questions.

People have been talking about these yellow flowers and bushes being covered. Couple questions:

1. If the water is above the average like this, does this push fish tighter to the banks to find the bushes and the yellow flowers. Will bigger fish first move into these areas to follow the bait fish or do they hold to deeper structure?

2. If the water level is constantly changing how do you change your plan of attack?

3. Kentucky Lake is huge so how do pick what area you will target? Do you start with north west creeks and banks to target the warmer water in the morning and move to other areas after?

I know there will be a lot of information handed out once everyone arrives but I'm bored LOL. ;D

I believe the water at the southern end of Kentucky would actually be warmer due to the river flowing north.

Not sure, but I believe that is how it works.

Kentucky Lake begins at Pickwick Dam. The water there is 49-51

degrees. The discrepency, I think, is do to heavy rains and a creek

that emptys into the river just below the dam. However, things change

quickly. TVA opened 8 gates this weekend and they are running

91,000 cfs through the generators today. Kentucky Dam is only

running 61,000 cfs, so the lake should be rising.

For some reason the TVA site is stuck on the 28th. I was out for 3 hours yesterday evening and a 4 lber that came out of 3 ft. of water told me the cold weather didn't bother them at all. I know the lake has came up at least to 357+. T-rigged craws in green pumkin and blackberry have been working great. The bass are starting to relate to wood cover.

Try the TVA site again. It is updated (3/30) and has three day

projections up now, too.
