Bassnajr Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Hey all... I want to give an "atta boy" to a fellow forum member and fellow Rhode Islander , known also to his friends as John C. For those of you who don't know John, he is NOT the kind of guy who would pat himself on the back....so I will. This past weekend, John was the Tournament Director for a T benefiting the Rhode Island TBF State Team, helping them to raise money for next years regional tournament. John also volunteered to drive a camera man for a local cable show around during the tournament. As the weather got worse, the camera man took off, (Too much rain!!!) so John did a little fishing. Well, in the pouring rain, John managed to catch a 9.44 lb. LMB, just a pound and a couple ounces short of the R.I. State record of 10 lbs., 6 oz. 24 ½" caught in May. 1991. See photos: John is the Vice President of the R.I.T.B.F., helps with the state C.A.S.T. for kids orginization, and runs a tournament for the P.V.A. (Paralyzed Veterans of America) every year. So I just want to say thanks to John C. for all he puts up with, all he does for others, and most importantly CONGRATULATIONS on the fish of a life time!!!! ajr Quote

Super User Tin Posted October 17, 2009 Super User Posted October 17, 2009 Awesome fish! What did he get it on? You know the bait, tackle, depth, structure, etc.? He was actually fishing on the bottom in 35-40' and it came right out of the middle of a ball of bait. As for everything else, if John wants to say it he can. All I can say was that I got about 9 phone calls in one hour after he got it. ;D It is the 4th fish I have heard of coming out of Beach over 9 pounds, they love the trout in there. A member of this site who lives up in Maine got one of them also. No one deserves this more than John though. Quote
hookset on 3 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Great job John C. That fish is immense! Go Rhody. Quote
