Hey all...

I want to give an "atta boy" to a fellow forum member and fellow Rhode Islander , known also to his friends as John C. For those of you who don't know John, he is NOT the kind of guy who would pat himself on the back....so I will.

This past weekend, John was the Tournament Director for a T benefiting the Rhode Island TBF State Team, helping them to raise money for next years regional tournament. John also volunteered to drive a camera man for a local cable show around during the tournament. As the weather got worse, the camera man took off, (Too much rain!!!) so John did a little fishing. Well, in the pouring rain, John managed to catch a 9.44 lb. LMB, just a pound and a couple ounces short of the R.I. State record of 10 lbs., 6 oz. 24 ½" caught in May. 1991. See photos:

John is the Vice President of the R.I.T.B.F., helps with the state C.A.S.T. for kids orginization, and runs a tournament for the P.V.A. (Paralyzed Veterans of America) every year.

So I just want to say thanks to John C. for all he puts up with, all he does for others, and most importantly CONGRATULATIONS on the fish of a life time!!!! ;)

considering what the record is, that is a trophy fish for your area.

Indeed, thats a toad of a lifetime in your neck of the woods.

Hell, thats a nice bass anywhere.

Awesome fish! What did he get it on? You know the bait, tackle, depth, structure, etc.?

He was actually fishing on the bottom in 35-40' and it came right out of the middle of a ball of bait. As for everything else, if John wants to say it he can. All I can say was that I got about 9 phone calls in one hour after he got it.  ;D

It is the 4th fish I have heard of coming out of Beach over 9 pounds, they love the trout in there. A member of this site who lives up in Maine got one of them also.

No one deserves this more than John though.
