L a r r y Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I was at the local spot yesterday, and threw on a crank bait made a few long casts, then all of a sudden felt dead weight. I was like, oh my, this is going to be a good one. When I finally was able to see what was on the end of my line, I noticed this. I sure hated that I hooked it liked this, this seemed kind of painful as when I pulled it out of the water, the mouth was wide open. Heal up well lil feller Quote
Super User Dan: Posted October 9, 2009 Super User Posted October 9, 2009 Must have been a slow bass. Don't worry about it looking painful, he didn't feel a thing. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 9, 2009 Super User Posted October 9, 2009 It happens from time to time. Quote
Steven Ladner Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 It's fine, this happens a lot. He'll be alright. Quote
mrlitetackle Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 ya, bass should be just fine.... had a couple in the past like that myself. Quote
-HAWK- Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Any bait with trebles is gonna eventually hook a bass outside of the mouth. I have caught bass with a treble through the eyeball!! Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 9, 2009 Super User Posted October 9, 2009 This has happened to me, too. Fish swam off like nothing happened. Quote

Infidel. Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Happens quite often with cranks, jerks, and topwaters. Quote
BassinSoldier Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 For some odd reason that happens alot to me when I am fishing lipless cranks. Anyway, the fish will be fine man, I'm sure of it... don't sweat it. Quote
skeetermike Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 You'll get a lota tail slaps that imbed the trebles into their sides while topwater fishing. I"ve had them pop the bait 2 or 3' off the top of the water trying to kill it before. Quote
