L a r r y Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 And before PETA comes after me, the fish didn't touch the grass for more than one second, when I had to lift it out of the water Quote
RobbyZ5001 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Hey man.. nice catch keep doing what your doing! Quote
Steve P. Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Looks like you've also caught the attention of 3 kids! Nice job! Quote
K.Russ Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Way to go Larry. Nice fish and it's good to see someone taking an intrest in our children by introducing them to the outdoors. If enough people would help educate our children about hunting and fishing we would have no peta. Quote

They were very excited at looking at her, touching her they were a little nervous especially when she started to flop around in my hands. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 20, 2009 Super User Posted September 20, 2009 watch out, touching a fish on its sides removes slime coat also! Quote
RobbyZ5001 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Don't breathe directly on the fish... I heard that removes slimecoat. Quote
Krzkev Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 That kid is removing the slime coat with his finger... LOL Quote
daviscw Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Don't breathe directly on the fish... I heard that removes slimecoat. Yes, it is perfectly okay to jerk a hook through a fishes lip then drag him around a pond, but its unacceptable to look at them the wrong way, or lay them on the ground. Nice fish! Quote
L a r r y Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 Ok....you cats are making me nervous. I am trying to do everything right here. I am trying to educate the youth, and also TRYING to preserve the eco system by catching and releashing fish. But this slime coat removal thing is getting a little too deep here. I am into the hobby of fish keeping also, do I need to start carrying around a bottle that helps promote slime coating and spray it on the fish when I release them? Quote
K.Russ Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Lets get kids intrested and loving the sport of fishing then we can teach them about such things as removing the slime coat from the fish. If our futher generations are not intrested in the outdoors the slime coat removal will be the least of our worries. Quote
NewAngler Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 KVD has a new product: KVD's Slimecoat Replenisher, you can get it at any fine sporting goods stores. We're messing with you, Larry. Welcome to the forum. Quote
