UrbanAngler Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 i took Team Trucha out for their first warmwater outing. got to the perris gates at 6am, and met up with Bass Freak and Toyman (Inland Empire locals) at the marina. after meeting up we headed for lot 11/12 for no love. the weeds are are out and choking the shoreline. "morning shots @ lot 11/12" "Team Trucha not sure how to fish for bass" "my pops with Bass Freak and Toyman in the background" "Nickymouse8(my primo) with Team Trucha heading out to the next location" after getting frustrated with the weeds we decided to hit up the east side of the dam(bernasconi) for no love. "bernasconi area " "third stop was at the fishing dock" "my bro-n-law of team trucha lands his first bass" seeing my bro-n-law land his first bass, gave me some hope in landing my first perris bass. the sun was out in full force team trucha was burning out and they decided to call it i day, so i decided to hit the dam where i met up with Bass Freak again. landed my first perris bass on a 4.5" robo (baby bass) texas style" off the dam it was tough out there but i still managed to beat the skunk. Infidel. Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Nice job. I miss that lake, bass in OK are the same. It's about to start going off out there. The whole shoreline between that handicap dock and the d**n will be full of shad... and bass. Quote

The whole shoreline between that handicap dock and the d**n will be full of shad... and bass. the weeds are out right now, so it's a little difficult for me(being new to bait casting and only fishing texas at the moment). is kind of stranged that the weeds are out, because the lake was bluestoned twice during the end of last year. i've been doing ok on the dam and the marina area "on the fly". bluegills and smaller bass put nothing big enough to report though. Infidel. Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Fish that split shot rig on spinning, not your baitcaster. Blue stoning that lake is the worst thing they can do. True, the weeds make it tuff to fish from shore, but the fish need them, especially now that the lake is so low and all of the rip rap on the points is out of water. I'm going to have to make a trip back out there if they ever fill that lake back up. Quote

I've been fishing "your area" for over 20 years. I just moved this month. Blue stoning is not to prevent late summer algae bloom, all it does is destroy habitat so the boaters and shore fisherman don't have to deal with the weeds. It's the worst thing that happens to the lakes down there, well that and all the meat fishermen. Quote
