michaelkim_9582 Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Ok, so there's this nice fishing pond by my house, made just for bank anglers. It a series of different ponds about 20 yards wide and really long like a snake so you can have access to just about anywhere on the pond. I would say its 10 feet deep at most. Right now there's tons of weed, literally covering 98% of the ponds and I've been there 4 times, trying different techniquics, throwing a roboworm on a shaky head, casting a senko rigged weedless, and I've fished frogs with no success. Any suggestions? I know theres bass in there cuz one time I caught three bass with a popper. and right now I cant fish them. I can't keep losing to them like this. HELP!!!!!! Quote
90x Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 why don't you try to look for other forms of structure. I don't have a clear picture of the place. usually when you have another form of structure leading to weeds, hit that spot. Take advantage in spring and fall when the weeds are growing and dying. Look for rip raps, docks, timber trees. Keep fishing the area. Eventually you will catch a couple of fish. Just like math when you gotta find a formula to a set of inputs and outputs, attempt to put two and two together and eventually you will be able to put a pattern together. You might also want to try search baits as spinnerbaits. Continue hitting spots with the spinner over and over again. Maybe try a buzzbait. Create a little commotion to attract fish. Upload a pic of the pond. Quote

Koop Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Depending on how thick the weeds are... I'd just concentrate on pitching along the weed edges with a sweet beaver or something of the likes. As mentioned a spinner bait may not be a bad idea either depending on how thick the weeds are, try to find paths in the weeds to work it, or along the edges. Putting a 3/8-1oz weight on and tossing it into the heart of the weeds and working it to drop through could produce some good results as well. Quote
