I was planning to get some of these trailers for my jigs, but I am not sure if I should get the full size or the jr. size.

I will be throwing 1/4, 3/8 mostly, maybe 1/2 when fishing deeper or heavier current.

Which do you prefer and why?

They do the trick but even the full size are a little small for my liking. I went over to Paca's and Chiggers. On little finesse jigs they are OK though, but sometimes the claws to do sit up and float. There are better options out there imo. And don't let the 3x thing fool you, you will still go through them.

I've never used the trailers but have used 3x and elaztech and that stuff is good for one outing...it tends to shrink and melt after use....and never store it with other plastics....melts all over them  >;)

Peca Craw Trailer or Rage Tail. I heard a lot about both being good, but peca = $2pack, 3" and rage tail = $5pack, 2.5"

I like them both.  Mostly I use the Paca chunks and Baby Paca Craws.  They have great action and are a little easier on the wallet.

i like all the options discussed here so far.  another one i really like is the back half of a full sized zoom brush hog.  most guys use these on t-rigs and c-rigs and throw 'em away when they get torn up.  i just cut the back half off and save 'em to use for jig trailers.  it will give your jig a totally different presentation/action that is just killer sometimes.
