Larry Hauser Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Saturday August 29th Fished the farm on saturday and it poured rain on and off til 1:00 p.m. Started in the southend in the outside wood. First fish to take the bait was a solid 5lbs 6oz. I caught 3 more in the wood, between 2.5lbs and 4lbs 12oz, before moving out to the roadbeds. The first roadbed I hit produced a nice 6lb fatty and 6 more fish between 3lbs and 5lbs even. Hit one more roadbed with the crankbait to have a 4lb 8oz bass inhale it. No great fish today but good solid fish and alot of fun to catch. Water clarity was a 1 1/2 feet. Surface temp was 88 degrees. Sunday August 30th I had JR Santos wiyh me for a half day trip today. The morning was nice and cool and breezy. The fish though appeared to be not very hungry right off the bat. We fished a few roadbeds with no takers. JR asked me what I thought the deal was and I told him the fish seemed to be biting better after 11:00 a.m. We went back to the first roadbed we started on and JR had a sweet 6lb 2oz mama slam his line. Twenty minutes later his rod was bending again and this time he pulled in a 5lb 1oz chunk. I then decided to look at my phone for the time and I showed JR it was 11:30 a.m.. We fished a little while more and caught a couple 2 to 3 pounders before I took him back to the ramp. The sun was just scorching at 1:00 p.m. the surface temp was a steamy 95 degrees.I went back out and caught 11 fish including a 5lb 8oz and a 4.4lb and 4lb 12oz. I also had one around 7 to 8lbs side step into the side of the boat and throw my rattletrap. Larry Hauser Quote
