My grandpa met a fellow trap shooting and he invited him out to his personal pond that nobody has fished in over 10 years. It's not overly large, you can cast from one bank to another on a fair cast and it stretches a decent way.

Anyways, I started off and caught my first bass on a Double Willow BPS Lazer Eye Spinner about 1.5 lbs. Next caught a dink on a 5" trick stick as the bite seemed to drop off. I've repeatedly read Jigs for quality fish, but personally I've only ever lost them. First cast with a random PB&J jig with an * 3.5" Pearl Beaver Craw trailer, 2lber. I was impressed to say the least. Next cast as I hopped it off the bottom to the shallow spawning rock the line felt heavy so the big hook set followed. He kept running as he hit the shallow water..so I threw down my pole and tackeled him :P

New personal best at 4.5lb, up from 3 =)

I'll eat my words about never catching a bass on a jig in almost two years, maybe I have been foolish!

that fish looks like a plank! Great job on the new pb. I just started fishing jigs this year and they are now one of my top baits.
