I never have any success in muddy water, but I went out with for a while anyway. I threw a 10' Powerworm for about an hour without a bite, but caught this one on a first cast with a Cavitron Buzzbait. This was my only fish in about 2 hours of fishing. Somehow my scale got switched over to kilograms, so we were puzzled when it showed the fish weighing 2.60. That converts to about 5 lbs 11 ozs. Anyway, here it is...

Nice fish! I've actually been fishing a lot of muddy water recently (we've had a lot of rain up here) and I wish I was producing fish like that.

Nice fish but that water doesn't even look fit to pee in.

Agreed. Nice job!

Nice catch.  Cavitron's are the only way to go.  That water looks alot of the ponds out here in OK.  You ain't got a hair on yer a** until you float tube a nasty pond like that.

thats the kind of water I get anytime it rains up here. especially now that I fish the d**n/ spillway at the shallow silt filled end of the lake.      Right choice with the buzz bait. I love fishing big jigs with extra rattles and a huge beaver bait in muddy water too. that, horny toads, and oddly enough, straight tail worms on light tackle flipped in EXTREMELY accurately and close to the holes in pad beds do it for me.    nice catch tho.

r u fishing that chocolate milk water lake from the shore? cause thats when it gets interesting.....

Yeah, I fish from shore. It's that that big. Did you notice the coloration compared to the water? This pond usually stays muddy so the fish stays a lighter color.

That water looks like the BIG NASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somebody must have gotten about six dump truck loads of the clay in Iredell county and dumped it into that pond!!!!!!!!
