little_stephen Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 So, over the past few months, Ive been trying to use jigs more often after reading some interesting articles in a BASS Times about some of the ways guys used jigs to get fish on the Red River. after my first jig fish also proved to be my biggest yet right before the spawn on a stalled cold front, blue bird skies cold.... cold.... Ohio spring day. I decided to keep up the jig fishing. Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday I got skunked on my camping trip to Atwood Lake with my Fiance. I came back and decided I needed to redeem myself, so Wed, I go fishing at my new favorite spot (a spillway wall at the lower end of my home lake, a shallow 92acre mud bottomed lilly pad choked public lake) and I made about 3 casts without a bite then this nice little guy blew up on that jig like it was the the only source of food hed ever seen. So here I am, bragging because Im one of about 12 people to pull more than one legal fish outta this lake the entire year so far. Got this one on a Jig I built from left overs. Booyah Jig, Custom PB& J Skirt. and a Net Bait Baby Paca Craw In Crawfish that I tinted with a few other baits to make more of a light copper color. (Sorry I cut off the tips of the fish, i was in a hurry to take the picture) Quote
