I am gearing up for next year... What size would you suggest for smallmouth in really clear water?  I am thinking the 85, they are the same weight (1/2oz) the 85 is 3.25" and the 100 is 4" long... thanks in advance for your input

I've never fished for smallies, but the largemouth around here crush a Sammy or Spro Dawg in the 100 size.

I would go for the 100. The larger size probably won't deter many smallies when the topwater bite is on. I catch lots of smallies, including smaller fish with 4" walking baits.

You should have posted this in the smallmouth section where the guys

that fish for little brown fish live! I would recommend 100, but I prefer

the 128.

The 85 size doesn't walk right for me?  I catch 10" SM on the 100 size so I would not go any smaller.
