What a morning!  Got the wife up at 3am we were on the road at 3:30 and hit James Creek at 5am.  Big striper tourney so I got the hell out of dodge and went to Tatman to launch.  Never looked but sometime between 6 and 8 rained so friggin hard that I had probably 30 gallons or more of water in the bilge.  Found that out when I tried to go to another place, gunned the throttle and the bow went skyward lol.

All in all not a horrible day, but we got skunked!  First time since I have started going there last year.  Saw one bass and I got him to come up and take a look by waking a spinnerbait.  Threw everything I could think of.  We tried deep, shallow, dropoffs, submerged timber, weedlines :D nothing.  Loaded back up at close to 1pm.

This has to be this ding dang weather we have been having.  I think the raystown branch has gone up and down 2-3 feet over the last couple weeks.

Better luck next time!!!  I really think if the weather would stabilize it will get better.

The picture to my left is a pic of a bass I caught in late April just inside the Aitch cove, almost to the James Creek Launch.  Weighed almost 7lb and is by far my personal best.  We are fishing there again July 11 and I probably wont have time to pre-fish so I may hit you up for some advice!!!

Thanks,

Billy

That wasn't a striper tournament launching out of James saturday it was the PA state team tournament. I was there and it was miserable. They ended up canceling it because of the storms. Me and some guys from my club went out anyway and got a few keepers flipping grass but it was a tough bite.
