mikesjet Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Took a mental health day and went fishing. I only caught two and both were on something I have never done much of....jig and pig. I figured nothing else worked and stayed with something until I either learned it and made it work or I just got PO'd. Anyway caught two and I have a pic of one because I also haven't read the owners manual completely for my wife and I's camera. Water surface temp was 64 in the morning and almost 70 in the afternoon. Black and blue jig with a brown and pumpkin seed craw trailer. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd29/hopefullbencher/100_0787.jpg Quote
Super User Dan: Posted June 3, 2009 Super User Posted June 3, 2009 mmm chocolate milk. How far is Raystown from Lewistown? Quote
mikesjet Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 I would guess a little more than an hour to get to closest ramp. We had a ton of rain last week and the river that feeds the lake (raystown branch of juniata) went up approx. 4 feet in a couple hours. Normally a very clear lake. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted June 3, 2009 Super User Posted June 3, 2009 Let me know if you need someone to work the net and camera. I know weekends are nuts up there, but that's all I can do for right now. My boat doesnt have a gas motor, so no Raystown for me. Quote
basser89 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Nice work Mike! I was camping at Raystown over the weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot of fishing in. Didn't have a boat with me either. Sunday morning, I managed to get out for a few hours below the spillway. While I didn't have any takers, I did see a keeper size musky and (the highlight of the morning) a bald eagle! Very cool! Had I knew you were going up monday, I would have (cough, cough) figured out a way to stay there another day! LOL! Wish I was still there actually! Quote
mikesjet Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 That is really cool about the the eagle because I saw one also around the james creek area. Flew right over me!!. Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Nice fish! I'm heading up to raystown in a couple weeks for the state team tournament. I've never fished raystown before but I hear it's pretty tough so we'll see how it goes. Quote
infiltwb Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 ok this coming monday we will be on raystown Any recent activity reports? Quote
