Tim Ford Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Man... For the first time in a long time I got shut out today. I feel defeated. Whooped. Violated. The worst part is, I fished from 6 am to 4 pm. I tried everything too. Shallow, deep, crank baits, jerk baits, spinner baits, top water, flukes, senkos, t-rigs, c-rigs, under docks, over road beds, in tree tops, around bridges. I tried natural colors, silvers, golds, forage, chartreuse, firetiger, black, etc, etc, etc.... Nothing. :'( Quote
Quitlimpin Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Frustrating, no doubt. I've been on the wrong end of many a shutout. You had more patience than I do, i woulda packed it up by 10 or 11 and gone to get a sammich. You'll kill em tomorrow Quote
Muad Dib Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 thats awesome that you were able to be out that long! atleast you got to try tons of techniques and lures as well as areas and hopefullly you found some new ones. sounds like my kinda day in duration i went out from 430 to 5 today. caught a about a half dozen . but i did go out for a few hours the other day and got skunked which broke my streak for a about a month. > i feel your pain brother t Quote
belak00 Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Unfortunaltly it has happened to me too. But as the old saying goes, a bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work. Quote
mrlitetackle Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 aggghhhhh....... i HATE the old goose egg!!!!!! you do have much more patience than i will ever posses...... i would have called it quits long before you did, likely around noon. i commend the effort 8-) Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted June 7, 2009 Super User Posted June 7, 2009 Just curious: What were conditions like? Weather trend, sky, and water. Quote
BassMan Mac Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 The same thing happened to my brother and I out at Glen Springs in Munford, TN. There was so many boats out there I was not suprised. I should have thrown some Aspirin or other pain reliever as I bet all the bass had a headache from all the rattling and banging of crankbaits and other baits! I know there is great fishing there so plan on going when less pressure is on the fish. Fun being out there though! Quote
Tim Ford Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 Just curious: What were conditions like? Weather trend, sky, and water. air temp: 6 am- 65 degrees 2 pm- 92 degrees water temp: 79 degrees sky: clear blue wind: none current: none water color: stained, not muddy I'm wondering if the full moon may have been a big reason they weren't biting. I met a guy at the boat ramp who was leaving as I got there (at 6 am). He had caught 3 nice bass between 4:30 and 5:30 on a buzz bait in very shallow water (1-3 feet deep). Quote
