IRH84F Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 My wife caught this bass, unfortunately we didn't have any way to weigh it. I'm guessing that it's around 15 inches. This is her shoe which is a size 7 ½ size women's shoe . Does anyone have a guess on the weight of this fish? Quote
ElGuapo Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 2 pounds, 1 ounce. If you're going to lay it on the ground like that why not just take it home? Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 2.25-2.75 lbs She's fat so she might hit 3. (Fyi- It's very unhealthy for the fish to be laid on the asphalt like that. The slimy stuff on the outside of a fish is actually the fish's immune system. Best off to hold him/her for the picture and then release it.) Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 14, 2009 Super User Posted May 14, 2009 Length X Length X Girth = Weight 1200 15 x 15 x 18 = 3.4 Pounds 1200 I estimated the Girth. You can redo the formula with the correct girth measurement. Quote

IRH84F Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 It was her fish so it was her decision to keep or release it. She wanted to let it go and so we did. Thanks for all of the guesses! Quote
Eddie Munster Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I agree with LBH; might go 3 or close to it. Nice fish. Quote
ElGuapo Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I've never seen a 3+ pound 15 inch bass in my life. Quote

husonfirst Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Hmm...my guess before looking at everyone else's was 4.5lbs. I guess I'm overly optismistic. Quote

JDPgator Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Well I think if you were to ask her how big yours was, you would appreciate an inflated number so you should return the favor and tell her it was 4 pounds. Quote
