Uncle Leo Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Old Cranky and I just returned from Choke Canyon. No Share Lunker but 30 lb bags everyday. Here is a few photos. Old Cranky' largest was 9lb 1oz, my largest was 6lb 8oz. Old Cranky got his PB, I missed mine by 7oz. Great Trip, our guide Charles Whited did a great job. He holds the bag record for a tournament on Choke Canyon with a 9lb 4oz average. Quote
Uncle Leo Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Best for last, Old Cranky and his PB 9lb 1oz, Chrales is holding up three fingers because Old Cranky lost three others on this spot, one definitely bigger. These bass loved to jump, tough keeping hooked with treble type baits. Quote
mlpauley Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 those are some nice fish.. looks like yall had a great time Quote
Fish Chris Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Man, that's some great fishing ! I had heard a long time ago that Choke Canyon was slam full of Alligator Gars ! Is that no longer the case ? Or can bass actually thrive that well in a lake with a bunch of big gator gars ??? To be honest, when I first saw your post title, I was thinking, "Why fish for bass when you could be chasing 200 + lb Alligator Gars" ? :-) ......but with bass fishing that good, it wouldn't be so bad :-) Congrats, Fish Quote

We had 60 fish days so I quess they swim faster. Quote
Fish Chris Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I guess if I had an Alligator, or an Alligator Gar on my arse, I'd swim pretty darn fast too ! ;D Fish Quote
