Fish Chris Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 No, I didn't catch any monsters, but just a good number of quality fish. I think I caught 14 fish total, but those included three 5's, two 6's, a 7, and an 8.0. Of those 7 fish, 5 (including the 7 and 8lb'er) were caught on the Hud, 1 on the 9" MS Slammer, and 1 on the wake-bait junior {my first fish on that lure}. Had a LOT more slaps on the Hud, and swipes at the MS and wake Jr. which didn't hook up too. I did get several fish, including 3 Smallies on crawlers and the micro-light, but they were all smaller 2 to 3 lb fish. Just the way the cards fell though, as I / we know the big ones will eat crawlers sometimes too ;-) Anyway, here's a quick shot of the 8.0. Very healthy, strong fighting fish. Peace, Fish Quote

Fish Chris Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Hey about the lake level, it was kind of amazing..... Yesterday morning, the level was about 1ft from the spillway. But by last evening, it was right at the spillway ! I swear it came up 1ft in 8 hours ! Fish Quote

It is so great to see that lake and the lake right next to it full. Even Folsom is fuller than it has been in years. Being able to fish in the trees . That last storm we had plus the warm weather melting the snow is sure having an impact on the lakes. The full lakes sure give me motivation to go fishing. Hopefully the summer won't be as bad as last year. Keep up the good work FC!! Quote

Fish Chris Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Thanks guys. Of course fish size is relative to the place in question. Seeing as I've only caught 4 from this lake over 10... and no 11's (yet :-)) so an 8.0 is a pretty good one. Peace, Fish Quote
UrbanRedneck Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 d**n Chris, its about time you caught a fish on that Wake Jr of yours. Thats an awesome day on that lake, and a beautiful 8lber, congrats buddy! Quote
