Tommy and I spent 19 hours on the water this weekend and all we caught was one stinking fish (we did get 6 or 7 bites over the weekend). And we had to wait till we got 10 minutes from home for that fish.

Got a photo on my phone, but I'm running on fumes....

Man, that is rough.  I feel for you on days, or weekends, like these. Just look at the bright side: you got to spend some good time with your buddy.

Man, 19 hours and one fish? I'd be ready to sell my boat and any fishing related items I own. You must've forgot to throw the Carolina Rig.

Hard to throw in the places we were fishing.  One lake full of trees and snot grass, the other full of some of the toughest grass I've ever seen.

I went out today for the first time since the road trip.  Wind gusting to 35mph, like KY lake all over again.  I did manage to catch a 3lber plus a few smaller 12' fish on the same jig and craw I had tied on at KY.

You need to go see a hypnotist.  You're already thinking skunked before you even throw a lure in the water.

35MPH winds, wow, you are brave man! I read the forecast for my intended fishing spot was going to be 25MPH winds and i just headed for BPS instead, LOL!

Burley it was the weather, the first part of the week it actually snowed and by this weekend it was 90 degrees.  I know the fish here (Greenbrier County) not to far from where you are, just plain disappeared this weekend.  I was catching fish all week long, and this weekend with the blue bird skies and unseasonably hot weather, nada.

you didn't say how BIG the fish was ? ;-)

19 hours on the water for 1 fish is quite normal for me... but if it's a DD, its worth it :-)

Peace,

Fish

Yea, I would say a fish larger than 9 inches is good for Burley.

Something "fishy" about this story. One of you guys must have caught a real good one.

Man that sucks.  I guess they are spawning hardcore right now.

I didn't get to fish at all this weekend and from the sounds of it, I didn't really miss much.

Are you guys going to go back to Cedar any time soon?

That's the fish we spent 19 hours trying to catch.   ;)

This is what happens when the fish aren't biting, you're bored and you've got JJ's on the boat.

I feel better.  Thought Sunday afternoon was bad.  Two of us probably caught eight fish combined.  All but two were dinky dinks.  The smallest fish I've seen this year.

We tried everything, and futility was the result for most things.  Everything I caught was on a Space Monkey that became a double amputee from the little nibblers.  The others were caught on a small creature bait.

At least we did it in four hours.

Misery loves company.  Thanks Burley.

The other fellow got a decent hit but it quickly got off.
