Looking for your suggestions for a better shad rap type crank, basically one that casts farther is what I'm looking for.

Have you tried the Shad Rap RS? They are 7/16 oz and dive a little deeper, and they suspend. They have produced for me.

Another option is the X-Rap Shad. 1/2 oz and dives 6'-15'.

Lucky Craft Moonsault. Cast better but pricey. Also the discontinued Excalibur Shad-R plastic and heavier but hard to find anymore. I have a little stock pile for windy days when I cant throw a shad rap.

I've looked at those two lucky crafts but haven't found them online for sale. Where do you get them?

I got my LuckyCrafts at either the Richmond BPS or Green Top.

Beautiful Lucky Craft baits.

But the Shad Rap is one of my staples and I always throw them; and then go to the Lucky Crafts and others.  :D

Last month I bought a few of the Slim Shads in Cabela's online Bargain Cave. I can't wait 'till spring to give them a go for inland WI walleye.

Give this one a look, it's by Dave's Ka-Boom lures:

I also use suspend dots to add just a little amount of weight in order to control the bait better in windy conditions as well.  But if it is too windy for that then I go to a plastic bait like the Shad Rap SSR which throws much better in the wind.

I do not know for sure, but I have heard that the cordel grappler shad works pretty good.

Can't believe I forgot about those.  I am a fan.
