Got up this morning only to have my brother bail on our fishing trip.  So I made a few cast with a golden shiner tandem willow spinnerbait, this is what I pulled out!

Nice fish, I wish I had any body of water in my backyard, especially ones that hold awesome bass like that!!

Thanks guys, my canal system is pretty good, and has plenty of forage (tilipia/bluegill) for the bucketmouths, I added a fish feeder and got a  neighbor to add one to his dock.  Also, every bass I catch over 4lbs on excursions I release.  The cool think is my brother caught a 12lb ??oz donkey out of here over 6 years ago, I hope I run into him  ;D.

NICE bass!.. I need to come pay you a visit.

You and me both, the Largemouth in my lake have stunk lately.  Hopefully that'll improve before too much longer.

Have the opposite here.  I'm bassed out, I only want Peacocks.

Not a bad thing to see cruising around your backyard. Although this morning I did see a TON of small Largemouth cruising in schools around on one of the other lakes in my development. Small meaning probably around 10 inches or so, hopefully they grow into maturity soon..

So there was a reason why your brother bailed on you.

Had he stuck to your plans you would not have caught that beauty.  ;)

I would have to say they are yellow perch, not bass.

Without question Peacock bass, which aren't bass at all but cichlids from South America, we have no Yellow perch in South Florida.
