thetr20one Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Has anybody had the chance to use these poppers? They look absolutely awsome! I would like some input from a few who have used them and not just have seen em! They are High end and I am wondering if they are worth the price. I just aquired 4 of em but Ice is coming and topwater is just not an option till next year. Should I Keep em I know I want to keep at least 2 but, The other two color combos may not give me the confidence I need to use them! Quote
zbass Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Just try not to use them in water that have toothy critters. They work!!!!! What size did you get? I have both the larger and smaller sizes. I personally like the larger size better. With little twiches, you can see the water coming out the back side. With practice you can get the bait to walk also. They are some good lures. Keep them. zbass Quote
Super User T-rig Posted November 24, 2008 Super User Posted November 24, 2008 Here's a review: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewmbpopmax.html My opinion; It's a good popper but nothing special. There are better poppers out there. The Pop Max looks great but doesn't catch any more fish then other poppers. I prefer the Duel Side Popper. http://www.duel.co.jp/english/products/d_df/sp_dp/index.html Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 24, 2008 Super User Posted November 24, 2008 I'm not sure they're worth the money, but the are beautiful and effective. If you really care about price, the Chug Bug is all you really "need". 8-) Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I don't see why they would be better then any other popper, I wouldn't waste the money. If your going to pay top dollar, your better of buying a high quality crankbait, or jerkbait. A Popper is a popper. Quote

Pantera61 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 The Pop-Max is good, the Pop-X (smaller size) has been more productive FOR ME. Quote

Some will spit more than they chug, and vice versa. Quote
thetr20one Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 I got a great deal on em and will give em a try next year ! Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted November 26, 2008 Super User Posted November 26, 2008 Well if you got a great deal then why the hell not?? I would buy them too. I can honestly say that a popper isn't a popper and I really love the lobina rico and rio rico(larger). 20.00 and worth every penny. The sound it makes is just like a skipping baitfish. Quote
