CFFF 1.5 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Nice fish. Really hard to tell the weight because you are holding so far from your body. Quote
senko_77 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Tough to say because of the perspective, but that thing is fat Quote
Muad Dib Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 awesome fish. gotta love the drive by hawgn! id guess 5.7lbs? but with the pic its tough good luck trav Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Holy crap man! I wasn't expecting to see a pig like that. It is really tough to tell from the picture, but I'd say that's 9 or 10 pounds if not more. She has the classic bug eyes of a really big fish. She is massive, congratulations ;D Also, don't be ashamed of holding it so close to the camera. As Fish Chris says, holding it close to the camera gives us spectators a better idea of how big the fish actually is. When you don't hold it close, it invariably looks smaller than its true size. -HAWK- Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Awesome fish! That girl is a hawg, My guess would be 8-10lbs Quote
aarogb Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I would have to go with 9-11 pounds. BTW, that is a really nice fish!!!! Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted April 6, 2009 Super User Posted April 6, 2009 nice job. man you guys get leaves on your trees quick in texas. we have nothing hardly in kansas. Quote
bassman31783 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Congrats my man. Beautiful fish. HAWG. Just broke my PB a couple of days ago as well. Awesome feeling huh. Hard to guess the weight from that angle. Definitely over 7 1/2lbs though for sure. Quote
Speed Worm Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I don't want to sound like an donkey-crevice, but is that photoshopped? You index finger in the fish's mouth looks "fishy"... If not .. I would guess 7 lbs. Quote
Krzkev Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I agree, look how his index finger looks, there's a liitle half circle shape void there. Nice try, but I think Photoshop has been applied here. Good attempt but should have worked on that finger a little bit more if you wanted to get away with it. Quote
Krzkev Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I know a thing or two about photoshop myself. I used to work for the Nat. Enquirer. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Hmm, when you look closely it does look a little fishy. Another strange thing is that he's not straining at all with a 9+ pound fish, no elbow bend, and not a very strong grip for such a large fish. If that's photoshopped, that's freakin' lame. What say you? Quote
Muad Dib Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 HAHAHHA thats why i said 5.7 lbs i just didnt want to say it photoshop looks impressive. is this the first time its been done on the site? shame shame Quote

Krzkev Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Good thing I saved this. Looks like we were right, IT WAS A FAKE. He took it down very quickly. It is a bit smaller but now every one can see. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 7, 2009 Super User Posted April 7, 2009 I saw this yesterday, and thought the PS job was bush league. Why do people do this crap? Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Sort of reminds me of the bass my buddy caught yesterday... Quote

Super User senile1 Posted April 7, 2009 Super User Posted April 7, 2009 ;D Daniel, did you post that before? I think I've seen that picture. Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 ;D Daniel, did you post that before? I think I've seen that picture. Probably...though I originally made it to email my buddy. On a related note, when I first joined here I made an avatar with a picture of me holding a bass that was obviously photoshopped. It appeared to be about 40 pounds!! I really thought I was being funny and creative, but a couple of people took exception to it, and I deleted it to avoid trouble. I learned a valuable lesson, you can photoshop to hide your background, or make a picture funny...but you better think twice before you change the size of your bass. Quote

I can see where it could be started as a joke, but on the other side, its a little insulting and diminishing to those that pursue, catch, and post the genuine article. It devalues the information that the trophy hunters are willing to share. What's funnier is doing it the old fashioned way, with a dink ;D Also, being a photographer, I like to be creative with my pictures, using tools like depth of field and perspective to add interest to the fish, and not to simply document the catch. Like this: As opposed to the "straight shot": Quote
-HAWK- Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 That's pathetic, Why spend time photoshoping a New PB. Why not spend the time actually trying to catch a PB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote

That avatar may be what I'm remembering. It was obviously a joke, because there are no bass of that length on the planet. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted April 7, 2009 Super User Posted April 7, 2009 i assume it was a joke and the OP was waiting to spring it by posting the real pic. Quote
