Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 5, 2009 Super User Posted April 5, 2009 My uncle is visiting from Las Vegas so he accompanied me in my tournament today. The turnout was horrible with only 17 boats participating. Take off was about 6:45am and weigh in was at 2. Everything was going fine up until about 7:15 when my TM stopped working. Luckily, the wind was blowing in such a direction that we were able to drift about 20 feet off the bank and straight down the shore. We pretty much fished the lily pads and boat docks. My uncle hooked up using a worm but she came unbuttoned at the boat, 3 pounds easily. I, for some odd reason, decided to throw a senko on my spinning outfit with #8 mono. I went through 1 1/2 bags of black/blue flake and caught a bass on every senko. My biggest was 4.9, which got me so pumped I almost did the Icaneli (sp) dance. I got the TM working about 2 hours later and we ended up finishing 4th with 11.9 pounds of fish. We missed 3rd by 4 ounces and 2nd by less than 1.5 pounds. Part 2. We leave the weigh in at 2:30 and go to Subway for a quick bite and then head out to my honey hole where we launched at about 3:30. We fished until dark and stopped counting after about 50 bass. Here's a pic of my uncle with a decent one. Quote
GLADES Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Were you on Lake Osbourne for the tourney? Sounds like you guys had a great time. Regarding the TM, on my minnkota, there is a small on/off switch under the head. I was fishing a TX last year and the mota stopped. I found out later in the day about the switch. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 6, 2009 Author Super User Posted April 6, 2009 Hey Glades. Yes, Lake Osborne but we headed north to lake Clarke. The fish were biting but lots of SMALL ones. The bite was actually more like a nibble. The fish would barley, and I mean barely hit so you had to fish painfully slow. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Nice. It's pretty impressive that you still kept fishing after a 7 hour tourney, and caught many more 8-) Quote
