Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 19, 2008 Super User Posted November 19, 2008 What are the differences between football jigs and standard jigs besides shape? What is the best application for both? Thanks in advance. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted November 19, 2008 Super User Posted November 19, 2008 Well for one I like the football heads for rocks and places that have a lot of hang up spots. The wider head keeps em out of the cracks! Quote
Bassboss Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Well I know what a football jig is good for rocks, I'm not sure when you would use a foot ball jig in replace of a standard jig, but I'm gonna say a standard jig head is better for grass, it looks like it would slide though grass better. Uncle Leo Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 IMHO I do not believe that a football jig is only for use in rocky areas. For the most part they excell when a dragging method is required. I also use on clay and sparse weedy bottoms as long as I can drag through I will use them. Quote
