-nick- Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Me and my friend went back out to the lake and had no luck at all all morning. I think it's just because it was our second day out on a boat were used to shore fishing so it'll take time for us to get use to finding the right spots on a boat and stuff. Anyways it was about 12:30 getting pretty hot so we started fishing under a bridge where I just caught this little dink. So my friend was fishing this little glass white husky jerk beside the pillar or whatever holding up the bridge and hooked into this nice bass. Took him for quite the ride almost breaking his rod since she took a fast break right under the middle of the boat. Take a guess at the weight, still don't have a good scale. In this one you can see the little husky jerk he caught her on. ;D Quote
-nick- Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 Oh, and if you were wondering why in the second picture he looked a little douchey, it's because he likes making funny faces in pictures after he catches a fish. : Quote

I would say you guys are on the right track Quote
Tanker4lyfe Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 ill say its about 4.5-5lbs, good catch and remember let that catch tell you something every time i catch one i'm putting the puzzle together Quote
nickb Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Nice one man! I'd agree, it's about 4.5 to 5 lbs easy. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 24, 2009 Super User Posted March 24, 2009 I'm not guessing pictures anymore, but that's a fine fish! 8-) Quote
daviscw Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Nice fish Nick! I would guess around 5 1/2 - 6. Quote
farmpond1 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Unless your friend is a dwarf (little person, or whatever the PC word is these days) I'd guess that fish is at least 6 lbs. Nice one, at any rate! Quote
tyrius. Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 If you don't have a scale at least get measurements (length and girth) of the fish. If you don't have a tape measure then cut fishing line to the length and girth and measure it later. Guessing based solely upon pictures is wildly inaccurate. Quote
moloch16 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Hmmm I know that spot - Shearon Harris right? It looks like they are pulling the hawgs out of Harris right now. Someone bagged a 39lb limit in a tourney last weekend. Quote
Simp Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 It's very hard to tell by picks but I'm guessing that's a very big fish. I'd say at least a high five to 6.5 IMHO. The problem is background, is you friend a small guy or big guy ect. Seriously though go buy a 20$ scale and stick it in your tackle box it's worth it! Quote

moloch16 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Huh? :-? The name of the lake was Salem Lake. Ah sorry, that bridge looks exactly like the one at Shearon Harris. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted March 26, 2009 Super User Posted March 26, 2009 Wow! Nice fish. That's a long one. Quote
