What are you going to do when you hook up with one of those babies

weighing 300 lbs? Now that you know there are sturgeon where you

are fishing, you might want to get a hold of Fish_Chris and find out

how to fish for them. The big ones are a ball and the smaller ones are

very tasty. Fish described the flavor and texture as resembling pork

chops. Check it out!

Wish I could fish for them but they're actually illegal to fish for in Maine cause they're a protected species. and i knew there were sturgeon there cause there's really big ones that jump clear out of the water :) I'm guessing he was investigating my shad lure when I hooked him/her. was still a fun fight

Nice fish. Always wanted to catch one of those. That one that you have though is a dink though. They grow to be one of the biggest freshwater species(Over 200 LBS). Very nice and rare catch even though hes small. How did he fight? Was it tough to bring in? Nice catch.

We have sturgeon around here.  People fish for them quite a bit.  It is illegal here to take them out of the water, and they must be released immediately.

I believe the largest sturgeon on rod and reel is more than 400lb., they have been netted at 1500#

I have caught them in the 60# range in the st clair river on nightcrawlers
