Super User Jimzee Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 Site is awesome Ronnie, thanks for the hard work. Looks way better than I was expecting. Also, thanks to Glenn, Speadbead, and Ghoti for helping put all this info together. Now I am more excited if that's possible.
bassnleo Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Ahhhh.....now I get it. I defiantely see how newer members may not understand or think they are welcome to join us! Come one, come all!
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Excellent job Ronnie, but quite frankly, I'm not surprised. One thing, please remove "Dirk" from the main list, he took the same vacation week as me unfortunately.
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 Ronnie, the site looks great. I thought it had a lot of info during the initial stages and I must say, you have now outdone yourself with the final product. Great job!!!
A_Glenn_2 Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 I just got done spending 30 minutes on the info site very well laid out and plenty of info thanks for the time spent helping everyone out..
Super User .ghoti. Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 Ronnie, great job on the site. Nice layout, easy to use. Thanks to all the other guys who helped, also. Note: if you feel the need to make any tweaks, please note that Mrs Ghoti found at least half the stuff you credited to me. Cheers, GK
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 27, 2007 Super User Posted December 27, 2007 WHAT HAS TWO THUMBS AND IS PUMPED UP ABOUT THE GUNTERSVILLE TRIP?????
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 27, 2007 Super User Posted December 27, 2007 <-------THIS GUY RIGHT HERE
RiskKid. Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Great job as usual Alpster!! Really looking forward to catching up with you again. I'm fired up for Guntersville......a couple months to reorganize the gear....a couple outings before the roadtrip.....and I'll be ready for my first 5 pounders....Shadcranker has guaranteed I'll get more than one each day.....we'll see.....optimism is running rampant!!!
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Man, I sure am gonna miss seeing you guys again. :'( Catch a fiver for me
Super User Long Mike Posted December 31, 2007 Super User Posted December 31, 2007 Huh? Russ are you telling the group that you will not be attending? I'm sure I missed you opting-out in an earlier post, but you cannot NOT attend. After all, you started it! If it is a vacation conflict with a co-worker, I have friends with large knuckles and small brains who can arrange to have you placed on the vacation schedule between March 23-28. Muddy, what's it gonna cost me to pull this off?
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Believe me Mike, I'm extremely distressed over this one but it's out of my hands. My name is not on the list but I am still getting quite a bit of email with questions regarding the trip. Please refer to Alpster's site for all trip info, it's all in there Trust me, it's killing me. I am on vacation the week before, middle of winter here and I get to do absolutely nothing except realize that I will not be with the crew the week after, it will be a very depressing 2 weeks. So, on a positive note,....who do we think will be the high liner at the scales? Any guesses? I'm sticking with the sure bet....I've got 50 on Keri

I WANNA STICK A BIGUN

I WANNA STICK A BIGUN I hear ya brotha..... What are we calling "big ones" at Guntersville anyhow? Anyone know?
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 3, 2008 Super User Posted January 3, 2008 Fat Girls? I think 4-6 lbs can be a reasonable expectation with a few 8 and 9. 10's are possible, but that's a BIG bass at Guntersville, like everwhere else for most of us. What I think will suprise people is the number of good bass that will be caught.
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 3, 2008 Super User Posted January 3, 2008 Haha, sorry. Should have been more specific. What size of fish (pounds) are we gonna consider "fat girls" I am sure its a little different between Fork and Guntersville, just curious as to what level one would have to achieve to be in the "Fat Club" ?
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 3, 2008 Super User Posted January 3, 2008 The Alabama State Record Largemouth is 16.5 lbs (1987); Smallmouth 10.5 lbs (1950). No one caught a 10 at Lake Fork. Glenn caught the big bass which was 9.1 lbs. For a number, I would call 8+ a Fat Girl.
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Shoot, if you travel there from a place where a 5 is a chunk, then a 5.1 would do it for me,lol.
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 3, 2008 Super User Posted January 3, 2008 Shoot, if you travel there from a place where a 5 is a chunk, then a 5.1 would do it for me,lol. Good point. Over 5 if you are above the Mason Dixon Line....over 8 for everyone else LOL
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 You got it Wayne, just keepin' it real, lol. ;D
Shadcranker Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 I fished there around six days last Feb and March, and in six trips, I had twelve fish over five pounds, including two over six. Most tournaments in the Spring, it takes 20 pounds plus to cash a check and at least 23 pounds to win (on five fish). So, if we hit it right, you can expect to catch 2-3 pound average fish with four to five good ones per day (four lbs. plus). I had one day last Spring, where I had 25 lbs on five fish in 2 hours, with a 7 1/2 kicker (pictured to your left). Also, I fished the BASS Weekend Series nationals last January there, and one guy had 31 lbs one day (with a 10 and 11 lbr in the bag). The potential is there to catch a ten pounder, and I would bet we'll see one or two on the trip. Guntersville does not have as many 10+ fish as Fork, but we should catch a bunch of 4-7 lbrs. Most locals there consider 8lb + a trophy. 5-7 lb fish don't turn any heads, simply because the lake puts out so many of them. SC
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 3, 2008 Super User Posted January 3, 2008 Shad, what kind of numbers can one expect on a typical day? While I wouldnt mind catching a pig, I would definitely enjoy catching fish on a consistent basis.
